The New Zealand Source Tagging Alliance (NZSTA) was formed in 2008 to encourage more source tagging of products, allowing local retailers to unlock the potential of radio frequency electronic article surveillance (RF-EAS) equipment they had installed.
Source tagging involves the placement of RF-EAS tags onto products or their packaging at the point of manufacture. Products therefore arrive at stores tagged in a consistently manner and shelf ready.
Source tagging helps retailers sell more and lose less, it allows more open merchandising, reduces theft and lowers store operating costs.
